Meetings and Consultations
How can we see the global church assisting the global church to be the Body of Christ that God has in mind for us?
One way is through a regional or people-specific partnership consultation. These gatherings allow those who have a vision and passion for a specific region, people or area of ministry to connect with others of like mind and passion. From hot and humid Muslim West Africa to the frozen tundra of North East Asia, ministry leaders are coming together to explore how they can collaborate to reach specific peoples and regions for Christ.
Many things can happen at these events.
-
Those working in the region, from expatriate missionaries to indigenous national leaders, can share, fellowship together, and encourage each other in the work they are doing.
- Practical connections are made for new initiatives into the people group and region.
- On-going mutual learning sessions take place in such things such as leadership development, culture and language, church planting, and partnership development.
- In addition, as a consultation progresses, hearing and giving reports on current projects and strategic planning for the future make each ministry more effective.
Regional partnership initiatives among the unreached seek to assist the development of church planting movements through five emphases:
- Relationship building to nurture cooperative projects.
- Connecting new resources with the region and its partnerships.
- Helping ministries such as Scripture translation, electronic media, business development, relief and development, etc., work more effectively across a whole region (e.g., Central Asia, North Africa, etc.).
- Facilitating the formation of new language or geographic partnerships.
- Facilitating learning through shared experience.

When cooperation with others is a priority, the work can become much easier to complete.

How enervating is the combined work and worship of a multitude of mission agencies focused on a common evangelistic goal! You just about have to see it to believe it.
