God surprised everyone the last morning of the North Africa Consultation meeting. The Jordanian who lead the daily devotion and Bible teaching session, spoke about us being the gospel of Jesus that others will read. “We are the message of Jesus to the world!”
As he continued, he challenged the group to a life of holiness exhibited by radical love, radical commitment, and radical unity. He then called for us to be reconciled to each other.
Out of their chairs came North Africans and Middle Easterners; those from Christian backgrounds and those from Muslim; Europeans, Americans, Africans and Latinos.
For the next four hours tears and humble confession flowed, hugs of reconciliation were given and received, songs of worship were sung, and the communion meal, the symbol of grace and unity, was offered. At that moment in history, we tasted God’s grace in Christ that makes us one -- so that the world would know the one true God!
